Who we are

FAI is a non-profit foundation established in 1975, drawing inspiration from the National Trust, with the aim of protecting and enhancing Italy’s historical, artistic and natural heritage.
We work to achieve three main objectives:
  • to take care of special places in Italy for present and future generations;
  • to promote education, appreciation, awareness and enjoyment of Italy’s environment, landscape and historical and artistic heritage;
  • to monitor the protection of Italy’s natural and cultural assets, in the spirit of Article 9 of the Italian Constitution.

Restoration, maintenance and stewardship is the number one investment item. At the moment 69% of funds raised are invested in the restoration, maintenance, management and enhancement of properties. Your support is crucial: 73% of the funds available to the Foundation come from private individuals.

 

TAX BENEFITS

If you are an Italian tax payer,  you may deduct the amount of the donation from your tax return, according to art. 83, c 1, c 2 D Lgs 117/17. Keep the receipt of the payment and present it to your accountant.
